About Mckensea
Mckenzie "Mckensea" Margarethe was born in Canada, where she spent the first few years of her life. As a kid she moved to Hawai'i with her mother, with the intention of only staying for a year, however that's where she ended up growing up.
Mckensea attended Chaminade University where she received her B.S. in Forensic Science & a minor in Chemistry. During her undergrad years Mckensea began doing research on the local Hawaiian Collector Urchin, which sparked a love for marine conservation research. She then continued on to research coral reef.
At the same time, Mckensea also began working as a marine naturalist. She describes this experience as one of her favorites to date, as there is no better way to get people involved with marine subjects than by showing them the beauty of the sea.
Now, Mckensea is focusing on her long term goal of becoming a content creator, focusing on bridging the gap between mainstream society & the scientific community, allowing real conservation science to come into the limelight.
